  1. Jim Medway

Arts Council standard artist fee is between 25-30 an hour for workshops, so this is sadly a very poor rate you are offering.

    • cottononmcr

Hi Jim. This role is for the workshop assistant, not the artist/tutor. We are offering £9 an hour which is above minimum wage for all ages in the UK.

    • Geoffrey Lebowski

Agreed Jim, no freelancer using their own vehicle should accept the terms here. Each of these sounds like a half day rate to me which a-n sets in the region of £100. This is only fair to cover the worker for ‘required’ availability, vechicle depreciation, lack of holiday, sick pay and pension etc.

      • cottononmcr

Hi Geoffrey. As mentioned to Jim, this isn’t for the tutor role, it is for the assistant to help on the workshop. Does a-n have an estimated wage for that and what hours that wage should relate to? The wage we are offering is above minimum wage set by the government for hourly work. We also offer cover for travel and petrol too.
